Fujifilm has an extensive history of developing and manufacturing photographic equipment and supplies and are well regarded among photographers for their unwavering dedication to colour rendition and tonal image quality.
Brand New G-Format
The Fujifilm GFX 50S Medium Format Mirrorless introduces Fuji’s brand new G-Format to their line-up of highly regarded digital cameras. Pioneering an extremely high end medium format digital resolution combined with a stylish mirrorless body design the camera is designed to offer refined performance for professional advertising, studio, commercial and editorial work.
Cutting Edge Resolution
The GFX delivers exceptional sharpness and superior image quality with a 51.4-megapixel medium format CMOS image sensor. The huge megapixel count creates image files with a massive amount of flexibility for editing and post production of your imagery.
More than 1.6x Bigger Sensor
Measuring a colossal 43.8 x 32.9mm, the sensor is more than 1.6 times the size of a 35mm full frame making it capable of delivering increased low-light performance along with an enhanced shallow depth of field. With customisable aspect ratios of 4:3 (default), 3:2, 1:1, 4:5, 6:7 and 6:17 the sensor can replicate a similar range of options as film style formats.
X-Processor Pro Imaging Processing provides Fuji’s famous refined colour tonality to ensure beautiful colour rendition and ensure the camera captures a wide dynamic range from deep shadow to strong highlights.
Mirrorless Body Construction
The GFX’s mirrorless body design combines the principals required to achieve first-class image quality with a convenient ergonomic styling. Weighing only 800g the system is incredibly lightweight compared to medium format cameras in the same class.
Weather Resistant Design
With a resistance to dust and a splash proof construction the Fuji GFX 50S helps to ignite your creativity in any environment. Whether it’s high resolution panoramic landscapes or fine detail portraiture the robust body structure takes the worry from the weather conditions helping you to focus on capturing exactly what you envisage.
With an Electronic View Finder (EVF) that can be detached to create a lighter setup, the GFX 50S also offers the option to mount the EVF in a range of angles using an additional adapter, to facilitate shooting from a range of angles. The camera can also be combined with a vertical battery grip optimised for portrait orientation photography and supports studio tethering for an enhanced work flow.
Tilting Rear LCD Screen
Designed to enable low angle compositions as well improved image reviewing capabilities the camera features a high resolution tilting LCD screen on the back of the camera that is able to articulate.
Specifically Designed Medium Format Fujinon Lenses
The Fuji will release an initial lens line-up of six weather resistant Fujinon GF lenses to support photographers cover the entire gamut of photographic situations. Making full use of the cameras mirrorless flange design the back focus distance of the lenses has been shortened as much as possible. This prevents potential vignetting and delivers razor sharp results across the entire frame.
The New Fujinon GF Lenses will consist of:
Standard Prime The GF63mm F2.8 R WR (equivalent to 50mm in the 35mm format) Wide-Angle Standard Zoom The GF32-64mm F4 R LM WR (equivalent to 25-51mm in the 35mm format) Mid-Telephoto Macro 1:0.5 The GF120mm F4 Macro R LM OIS WR (equivalent to 95mm in the 35mm format) Fast aperture mid-telephoto The GF110mm F2 R LM WR (equivalent to 87mm in the 35mm format) Super wide The GF23mm F4 R LM WR (equivalent to 18mm in the 35mm format) Wide The GF45mm F2.8 R WR (equivalent to 35mm in the 35mm format)
Offering superior image quality, the Fujifilm GFX 50S Medium Format Mirrorless Camera is set to redefine high resolution professional photography.
