The Atomos Sumo 19-Inch HDR Production Monitor and Recorder is an ultra-bright 1200 nit display that can display precisely colour mapped footage with true-to-life HDR colours and is also able to record footage in 4K 12bit RAW, 10bit ProRes/DNxHR formats. Quadlink SDI connections make live multi-cam editing easy with upto four separate Full HD channels at 60p with preserved ISO feeds that ensure the footage remains isolated for future editing flexibility. Ideal for On Set Monitor Work
The Sumo 19-inch monitor can be easily incorporated into your DIT cart setup on set to deliver real-time previews of Log/PQ/HLG footage mapped by the AtomosHDR engine with than 10 stops of dynamic range, you can also conveniently compare between log and standard gamma footage. This makes it ideal for showing shots to clients and directors without the risk they will be unimpressed by the flat ungraded footage.
Built in Monitoring Tools
With a range of integrated tools to ensure you’re getting the most out of your production the Sumo has a waveform monitor, focus peaking, frame guides as well as a vectorscope and false colour scope for more comprehensive exposure details. With an anamorphic de-squeeze functionality as well as flexible colour support that allows you to upload your own .cube files for LUT customisation.
Compatible with X-Rite Colour Calibration
The monitor also supports X-Rite’s i1DisplayPro for precision calibration so you can compensate for any natural colour and brightness drift. This means you can trust the colour of the monitor for HDR and Rec709 colour space applications.
On-board Recording with SSD Support
In addition to monitoring, the UHD, DCI 4K, 2K, and 1080p recording capabilities of the Sumo allow you to create dailies and proxies in a range of resolutions direct to SSD media via Atomos’s patented Master Caddy System. SSD’s are high capacity and widely available making them the perfect storage media for the recorder.

The monitor’s 19-Inch high resolution 1920 x 1080 touch panel features a bright 1200 cd/m² display that means you can accurately monitor outdoors in daylight. It also has a 2:1/1:1 zoom focus assist tool, to ensure that focus pulling and peak monitoring is simple and accurate so your shots are sharp and your focus is exactly where you want it to be.

Featuring an aluminium alloy body with built in armour, the Sumo has ten mounting points on the top, side and bottom, along with a VESA mount on its rear panel that allow it to be configured in a choice of mounting setups to suit your production requirements.

When used in the editing suite the monitor’s HDR capabilities and 10-bit processing function combined with a wide range of inputs support for Log, PQ and HLG Signals give you the flexibility to view and edit your footage with impressive image quality perfect for grading and editing.
SDI and HDMI Interface Ports
QuadLink SDI inputs are compatible with 1.5 or 3G-SDI camera outputs on so you can connect devices with multiple outputs without needing adapters. The Sumo has support for SDI signals with a range of speeds from 1.5 to 12G as well as HDMI 2.0 support for DCI 4K and UHD, together with the latest Atomos open protocol that includes HDR automation and supports importing camera settings, LTC timecode and Genlock.
Raw Recording with Data Rates Up To 3.2 Gbps
High quality RAW recording is supported with an impressive data rate up to 3.2Gbps that gives the Sumo the ability to record a 12-bit 4K signal via SDI at 30p captured in Cinema DNG, or a 10-bit 4K 60p signal recorded with the Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHR codecs. This ensures compatibility with the Sony FS5, FS7, and FS700 cameras as well as the C300 Mark II and C500 cameras from Canon.
Versatile QuadLink SDI Connections
Multi-cam productions are easy with the Quadlink SDI connections that let users switch and mix while live recording up to four isolated HD video streams for future editing flexibility. The monitor provides on-screen switching between feeds with cueing and crossfade, as well as hard cuts based on locked sources, allowing versatile project development.
Audio Monitoring and Recording
With full-size XLR connections with 48V phantom power supply the Sumo is optimised to capture balanced analogue audio, the recorder provides dedicated meters and settings to adjust frame delay and gain. A 3.5mm stereo headphone jack in addition to the built-in speakers form a complete audio solution for instant playback and review.
Hot Swappable Power Options
Power automatically switches between connected batteries when depleted, providing uninterrupted power for extended shoots and allowing you to hot swap out depleted batteries for continuous operation. While on-location, power to the Sumo is supplied using optional mounting plates that accept V-Lock and Anton Bauer batteries.
