The Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS Macro HSM is a highly versatile all-purpose lens offering a powerful 13.8x zoom ratio. Great for general-purpose photography including sports, landscape and macro, this lens is ideal for those wanting a compact and lightweight lens to take on travels or just to leave on-camera. Furthermore, new TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) materials make the lens less susceptible to temperature changes. In addition, OS* Optical Stabilisation delivers up to 4 stops of compensation for camera shake; Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting; a Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) ensures fast and quiet auto-focusing; and a rounded, seven-blade diaphragm provides attractive blur to out-of-focus elements. A brass-made bayonet mount with special surface treatment reinforces strength for high accuracy and solidity.

Please Note: This lens is suitable for APS-C DSLR cameras. It is not designed for use on 35mm full-frame cameras.

Wide Range Of Photographic Uses In One Lens - Covering wide angle 18mm to telephoto 250mm, this versatile lens designed exclusively for APS-C digital SLR cameras, is suitable for all-purpose photography including landscape, portraiture, sport, and macro photography. It is convenient when you wish to keep your equipment to a minimum and yet still be prepared for all opportunities and situations, such as when travelling.

Excellent For Macro Photography - Close-up capability is improved with a minimum focusing distance of 35cm throughout the entire zoom range, and maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.9. In APS-C size equivalent, macro photography with approximately 1:2 magnification ratio is possible. For convenience, the maximum magnification ratio at each focusing distance appears on the side of the lens barrel.

Compact Design - Optimization of the lens arrangement by incorporating double-sided aspherical lenses, and overall re-design, the filter diameter size is reduced to 62mm. With the dimensions of diameter 73.5mm x Length 88.6mm, it ensures portability and overall ease-of-use, making it perfect for travel and leisure photography.

New Construction Material TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) - This new material incorporated into the lens barrel has a high degree of elasticity, and is less susceptible to contraction or expansion due to extreme temperature changes. This contributes to a more stable construction with less fluctuation in performance. It also allows for more compact construction including a slimmer zoom ring and scaling.

Brass-made Bayonet Mount - This lens incorporates a brass-made bayonet mount which has both high accuracy and solidity, the same as the lens mount on camera bodies. A special treatment is used to reinforce the strength and is applied to the surface making it a high quality lens that is durable with long-term usage.

Optical Stabiliser (OS)* - Sigma's own unique Optical Stabiliser (OS)** function is incorporated in this lens. It offers effective correction of approximately 4 stops, compensating for camera shake, ideal for low-light shooting as well as macro photography, where any blurring can be very evident. When photographing moving subjects such as in motor sports, it automatically detects camera panning movements, offering effective correction.

**The OS effectiveness will gradually decrease as the shooting distance becomes shorter.

Superior Optical Performance – An SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element offers excellent correction of colour aberration. Three aspherical lenses including double-sided aspherical lenses prevent and correct all types of aberrations including astigmatism, achieving high quality images throughout the entire zoom range.

Super Multi-Layer Coating - reduces flare and ghosting, and provides sharp and high contrast images even in backlit conditions. The supplied petal-type lens hood can be attached to block out extraneous light and prevent the occurrence of internal reflections.

Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) – delivers fast, accurate and quiet autofocusing.

Rounded Diaphragm - The rounded 7-blade diaphragm creates an attractive blur to out-of-focus areas of your photographs.
