Lightweight and small like a compact camera, but with the performance of a much larger DSLR camera, theSony Alpha NEX-7 compact system camera offers incredible image quality, amazing low-light performance and complete creative control, wherever you are going. With its class-leading 24.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor the NEX-7 will capture incredibly detailed still photos and gorgeous full HD movies. Boasting a super-fast shutter release lag of just 0.02 seconds, high-speed AF, and 10fps continuous shooting, the NEX7 is lightning-fast and highly responsive. A new and intuitive Tri-Navi manual control interface improves usability. Its ultra-high resolution 2359K dot XGA OLED Electronic Viewfinder makes composing shots a complete joy and, reviewing photos and composing from difficult angles is made supremely easy with a variable angle 3” Xtra Fine LCDscreen.

Movie feature – records video and stereo audio up to Full HD* 1920 x 1080 resolution in AVCHD format at a fast 50i frames per second so even fast-moving subjects are captured clearly. Or shoot at 25p for a more cinematic feel to your movies. Also records in MP4 format for easy PC compatibility and web upload. Full P/A/S/M manual controls.

* We recommend using class 4 or higher memory cards for recording high definition video. SDHC and SDXC memory cards are only compatible with their respective formats.

24.3 Megapixel APS HD CMOS  Sensor - the same sensor format used in full-sized α DSLRs, this sensor is the highest resolution among compact cameras and delivers an exceptional combination of high sensitivity, low noise, and gorgeous, blurred backgrounds.
Interchangeable Lenses - compatible with Sony's E-mount series of smaller, lighter lenses designed specifically for Sony mirrorless interchangeable lens compact system (CSC) cameras.
Fast 10fps Shooting – capture images at 10 frames per second at full 24.3mp resolution. Great for getting action shots of sports, kids, animals.
World’s first OLED Viewfinder - 2359K dots for amazing resolution and high contrast. OLED reduces motion blur. You can also see the results of camera adjustments in real time with superb colour and detail as well as shooting information.
921K Tiltable 3” LCD Screen – High resolution Xtra Fine LCD monitor tilts down 45° and up 80° to frame difficult high- and low-angle shots. Also good in daylight.
Tri-Navi™ Manual Control - three separate control dials for direct access to three settings at a time (e.g. aperture, exposure compensation and ISO.)
Built-in pop-up flash - Enjoy the convenience of a built-in flash with Guide Number 6.
Hot Shoe for α System Flashes – Suits Sony system flashes
3D Sweep Panorama - Capture vast scenic vistas and 16:9 shots in spectacular 3D. As you sweep across the panorama, the camera records separate right-eye and left-eye images that make landscapes come alive on your 3D television4. Records both JPEG and MPO file formats.
6-image layering - Capture six images in a fraction of a second, and then combine the data. The result is an incredible single image that controls blur in Anti-Motion Blur mode or gets cleaner, sharper nighttime pictures in Hand-held Twilight mode.
25-point Auto Focus - 25 sensors cover a very wide area of the scene, for accurate focusing even when the subject is far from the center of the frame.
Intelligent Auto Focus - Pre-focuses as you compose the shot, further reducing focusing time to a bare minimum.
Object Tracking AF– lock onto a specified object and maintain focus even as the subject moves.
Peaking AF display - makes precise manual focusing much easier by highlighting the edges that are in focus in your choice of three colours (white, red, or yellow).
World’s shortest release time lag (0.02 sec) – short shutter lag at just 20 milliseconds - helps you to capture the decisive moment.
iAuto (intelligent Auto) - Takes advantage of Intelligent Scene Recognition, Face Detection technology, and Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization without leaving auto mode so you always get the best shot.
Auto HDR – High Dynamic Range combines the best highlight detail from one shot and the best shadow detail from another for one incredible shot.
RAW file format – file format that allows greater adjustment of various camera settings on your computer after you have captured your images, without losing image quality, such as adjustment of colour balance, exposure, etc.
Dynamic Rang Optimiser - improves results with backlit subjects and recovers details hidden in shadows.
P/A/S/M Modes - full range of controls from the beginner's iAUTO mode to P/A/S/M: Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual for greater control in both stills and movies.
Dual Slot Memory Stick/SDHC/SDXC Card* – uses both Memory Stick Pro Duo/Pro HG Duo and SD/SDHC/SDXC* cards giving you more choice of storage mediums between devices.
Anti Dust Technology - a static-free coating on the sensor's low-pass filter helps repel dust. Then vibration automatically dislodges dust from the sensor. Helps prevent dust spots on your images.
11 Picture Effect modes – 11 creative picture effects modes to choose from that will make your stills and movies really pop.
Stamina™ battery power – take up to 400 shots on a single charge
External Microphone Input – Improve audio quality by adding an external microphone
HDMI Out - Enjoy HD movies and stunning still images on a compatible HDTV. The camera includes a mini HDMI™ output (requires miniHDMI cable sold separately). In addition, the BRAVIA® Sync system works with compatible Sony® BRAVIA HDTVs enabling you to control camera playback using the television's remote.
Optional LA-EA1 and EA2 Lens Adapters - Allows you to attach A-mount lenses to your E-mount camera. However, the LA-EA2 is the world’s first adapter to leverage Sony’s exclusive Translucent Mirror Technology to provide super-fast and accurate Phase Detection AF as well.
