Key Features

Leica DC VARIO-ELMARIT 25-600mm f/2.8-5.2 24x Zoom Lens – Quality Leica lens that offers a huge focal range of equivalent 25mm-600mm. Cover a wide range of photographic situations from capturing wide angle shots of groups, tight interiors or sweeping landscapes; to extreme telephoto zoom for distant subjects. The telephoto end is also good for portrait shots with beautiful background blur. New Nano Surface Coating dramatically minimizes light reflection across entire visual light range.

Dual Image Stabilisation – Power O.I.S. optical and digital technology works together to counteract blurred images due to shaky hands, subject movement, or when shooting in low-light conditions. Nearly doubles the hand-shake correction power of conventional MEGA O.I.S. Active mode stabilizes video, even while walking.

12-megapixel CCD Sensor – Boasts high-speed operation required for full HD movies and high-speed burst shooting. Venus Engine image processor features improved noise reduction for clearer images.

Intelligent D-range Control - Optimizes the exposure for each part of an image, preventing blocked shadows and blown highlights in scenes with a high dynamic range.

Handheld Night Shot Mode - generates beautiful night scenery with illumination by multi-layering of consecutively-shot images.

iA (Intelligent Auto) – Automatically adjusts your camera for a range of different shooting situations for point-and-shoot ease.

Advanced Scene Mode - lets you quickly set the frequently used Portrait, Scenery, Sports, Close-up, or Night Portrait Modes with the mode dial. And each of these modes can be fine-tuned to match the shooting situation.

Intuitive Manual Control – Jog Dial, Quick Menu, and assignable Function Button allow quick and easy access to common and favourite camera controls and settings.

3.0” High Resolution LCD Screen – Large high-resolution 460k screen with wide viewing angle. Automatically adjusts brightness in 11 steps according to shooting conditions.

Electronic Viewfinder - 0.2" EVF (electronic viewfinder) featuring a 100% field of view, 201,600-dot equivalent, and a large, comfortable eyepiece.

Sonic Speed AF – Dramatically improved autofocus speed (35% faster) as compared to previous model (FZ40)

AF Tracking - Once you focus on your subject, the AF Tracking automatically tracks it until you press the shutter, keeping moving subjects in focus – great for kids, pets, sports etc. (also functions in video mode).

MF Assist - enlarges the image to make focusing manually easier.

AF/AF-MACRO/MF mode button - lets you quickly change the focus mode.

High-speed Burst Consecutive Shooting - lets you snap off consecutive shots at approx. 3.7 frames per second at full 12.1 megapixel resolution.

3D Photo Mode - Produces a 3D image in the camera that can be played back on MPO-compatible equipment such as VIERA HDTVs and digital photo frames.

Creative Control and Photo Style – Allows you to select various filters and colour modes to change the look of your images. You can also use these creative modes whilst shooting video to create a unique look.

Creative Video Mode - gives you a wider range of expressive possibilities to explore allowing control of shutter speed for effect and fast moving subjects, and aperture for control of depth-of-field.

Wind Cut Function – helps to reduce noise when recording video in windy conditions.

High Quality Sound – built-in stereo microphone records dynamic, true-to-life stereo audio.

Video Divide – allows you to do basic in-camera video editing.

Cut Animation – allows you to save a still image from a video file.

Less Shutter Lag - The shutter release time lag is as short as approx. 0.005 seconds, making it easy to capture sudden, spur-of-the-moment photo opportunities.

Flash – Built-in flash with 1st curtain sync and 2nd curtain sync for more natural night shots.

1cm Macro – take stunning close-ups as near as 1cm from subject.

4 Aspect Ratios – choose either 1:1, 3:2, 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios to suit your scene.

Text Stamp – allows you to add text to images in-camera such as date/time as well as other information such as names, birth dates etc.

World Time and Travel Date Setting – Handy for when you take your camera overseas on holidays

Extended Battery Life – get around 400 shots per charge with the included Li-ion battery

Seamless Slideshows – lots of options including playing slideshows with music, slideshows based on category ie recognized faces, still or movies only; or both.
