Advanced Sports Mode - ideal for shooting fast moving objects. When activated, the camera analyses subject motion and predicts its next move, making sure it stays in focus.

Face Detection – focuses and sets correct exposure and white balance for faces (up to 8) rather than other picture elements that might be in the foreground or background. Face Motion Detection increases sensitivity and shutter speed when it detects a moving face, to reduce blurring.

Face Selection – allows a particular face to be registered so the camera always optimises focus, exposure, and white balance to make that face look its best in the scene. Even when the subject leaves the frame, the camera remembers the face. Also has selectable child or adult priority.

Intelligent Auto - replaces auto shooting mode, and is selectable via the mode dial. When this mode is active, the camera automatically determines the optimal settings for each scene by using Intelligent Scene Recognition.

Intelligent Scene Recognition - automatically detects eight different types of scene conditions and within 1/30th of a second selects the appropriate camera settings – saves fiddling with menus.

Anti-Blink - When the camera is set to Portrait, the Anti-blink function captures two images, recording only the photo with less squinting. If a blink is detected in other shooting modes, a warning will be displayed after you take the shot.

Smile Shutter – when in this mode camera automatically takes a photo when it detects a subject’s smile in the frame.

Dynamic Range Optimiser (DRO) – automatically optimises exposure for high –contrast scenes such as backlit portraits to prevent under exposure.
