The Canon XF-305 employs an MPEG-2 FULL HD 4:2:2 50Mbps Codec for capturing and recording native 1920 x 1080 video onto affordable, universally available Compact Flash (CF) cards*. Uniting video, audio and metadata into a single file, the Canon XF305 uses an MXF(Material eXchange Format) File Wrapper, a widely supported open-source format, to maximise compatibility with existing industry infrastructure and non-linear editing (NLE) systems. The camera also incorporates dual XLR inputs and captures 16-bit PCM audio at 48 kHz. The XF305 is engineered for multiple production applications including broadcast news, documentaries and independent filmmaking and event videography.

Featuring a genuine Canon 18x HD video lens,3CMOS sensor system, andDiG!C DV III, the Canon XF300 records breathtaking Full HD video whilst being very mobile, with excellent balance between operation and weight. The XF-305 also incorporates industry standard BNC terminals that support Genlock, HD / SD SDI and Time Code, for seamless integration into multi camera live switch shoots.

* Compact Flash type I UDMA 4 or equivalent is required for video recording. SD card slot will only save photographic stills and will not record video.

NB: DC-920 DC coupler is required when using the CA-930 AC adaptor.

File-based HD Video Camera - Versatile file-based recording, direct to readily-available CF Cards allowing easy integration in to standardized workflow

Super Fast Processing With 1/3 Inch 3CMOS Sensor System  - A low noise system supporting slow and fast motion shooting and faster scanning reducing rolling shutter skews

Super Range Optical Image Stabilizer - Dynamic, Powered, and Normal image stabilization settings.

Instant AF - Instant AF with Face Detection technology

Genuine Canon HD L Lens f/1.6 – f/2.8 with 18x Optical Zoom
Equipped with a large L series Lens with a centre resolution of 1,000 TV lines, offers enhanced resolution at all zoom levels

MPEG-2 Full HD (4:2:2) Recording Codec  - This newly developed Canon XF codec enables high quality imaging and audio performance with up to 50Mbps data recording.

4.0 Inch LCD With 270° Rotation
A freely rotating 270 degree (left and right), 35 degree (front), 4.0 inch 1.23MP HD LCD Panel with 100% coverage allows for greater usability and mobility.

High Resolution, 1.55-megapixel EVF - features a 0.52-inch, 1.55 Megapixel Color EVF and approximately 100% field of view coverage for comfortable viewing and accurate judgment of composition, focus and color.

Multiple Recording Bit Rates, Resolutions, and Variable Frame Rates – Supports 50Mbps CBR, 35Mbps VBR or 25Mbps CBR at various resolutions, and 50i and 25p frame rates.

Slow Motion & Fast Motion - record at different frame rate than the playback frame rate, resulting in either a fast or slow motion effect during playback with no quality loss and maximum image quality.

Interval Recording - program the camera to record a specified number of frames at specified intervals. The technique can be used to observe natural phenomena over extended periods, making it ideal for time-lapse applications.

Frame Recording - This setting allows a specified number of frames to be recorded – ideal for projects such as clay animation.

Canon DIGIC DV III Image Processor - provides enhanced shading, lifelike tonal gradations, new custom picture settings and lower power consumption.

Genuine Canon Face Detection - On-the-go videographers will appreciate the ability to track one subject in a crowd of people.

Edge Monitor Focus Assist System - Through this dynamic focus feedback system, the user can intuitively tune focus in a scene and quickly change the zone of focus.

Exceptional Customization - For maximum customization, users have access to Custom Picture Settings, Custom Functions and Custom Display Options to tailor the camera to match their creative and production needs. Any combination of these items can be saved to an SD memory card for easy setup and matching of multiple XF305 and XF300 camcorders.

Audio System – incorporates a stereo microphone as well as two XLR audio inputs with +48V phantom power. Audio is recorded in 16-bit PCM format at 48 kHz for amazing quality and fidelity. Also includes a 3.5mm headphone terminal with 16 volume settings for accurate audio monitoring.

Photo Capture - For applications such as storyboarding, continuity and publicity shots, the XF300 offers the ability to capture 1920 x 1080 still images to SD/SDHC memory cards.

Waveform Monitor and Vectorscope - confirm accurate exposure and color levels during the capture process.

Intelligent Battery System - compatible with Canon’s new BP-955 and BP-975 Intelligent Lithium-ion batteries. These batteries communicate remaining running time (down to the minute) and wear data back to the camcorder, so the user is well-informed at all times.

Color Bars with Reference Tone - Two types of color bars can be selected:
Type 1 (SMPTE compliant) or Type 2 (ARIB compliant); 1 kHz Reference Tone: -12dB, -18dB, 20dB or OFF.

Industry standard terminals - Genlock, HD / SD SDI and Time Code for seamless integration into multi camera live switch shoots
