The Xacti HD1010 adopts the MPEG-4 AVC/H264 format for high-compression recording. The resulting files are small in size, yet offer picture quality as good as, or better than, DVD (MPEG-2). A new high-speed shooting mode captures up to 300 frames per second, enabling smooth and detailed slow-motion playback. And to help keep your images steady, the HD1010 uses a digital image stabilizer to eliminate the effects of unwanted shaking. • Video recording times and photo capacities are approximations only, and may vary according to the type and manufacturer of the memory card, the subject, and shooting conditions.
• When the continuous recording time exceeds approx. 13 hr. for audio, or approx. 5 hr. 30 min. when the video mode quality is set to [Web-SHQ], the file will be saved, and subsequent data will be saved in a new file. When the recording file size exceeds 4 GB with a video mode quality setting other than [Web-SHQ], the file will be saved, and subsequent data will be saved in a new file. The SANYO Xacti VPC-HD1010 is the camera of choice for anyone who enjoys taking high definition videos and high resolution stills with one unit, and will be on sale in Japan from June 20, 2008.

On the new product launch, Hideki Toyoda, General Manager of the SANYO’s DI Company Products Planning Department, said, “With the HD1010, SANYO has brushed up many of the features from the previous model, making it easier to use while advancing the image quality. With a SANYO Xacti, you have instant access to both high quality photos and high definition movies with one simple, stylish unit.”

1. Compact and light-weight Full HD (1920 x 1080 recording) Digital Movie Camera image quality further advanced

- Able to record to memory in Full HD (1920 x 1080)
- Brushed-up image processing technology*1, improved image quality*1, and additional functions including attention to simple operability have been improved*1
- Signal processing optimized for gamma correction and noise reduction, improving lens color-sensitivity and image quality when filming in darker conditions
- Codec algorithm adjusted (12 to 14 Mbps) to allow more data per second, improving images
- Improved high-speed image processing engine able to process large amounts of data allows approximately 37 minutes*2 of Full HD (1920 x 1080) video on a 4GB SDHC Memory card
- New 1920 x 1080 30 fps*3 mode added allowing further possibilities with Full HD and computers

2. Saving and playback of filmed data easier than ever with improved ‘Xacti Library’ date-sorting calendar function

- Library only requires the docking station that comes with the camera and an external hard drive*4 connected with a USB cable*5 to efficiently save and playback videos and stills
- Connecting docking station with television allows playback on the television for all to see
- Library operation is simple with remote control, making operation as simple as selecting the menu option from the television screen – simply select the thumbnail to view the video or still
- Files can be saved/sorted by date of filming, allowing simple file management and browsing

3. New high-speed recording ‘Slow-motion video’ function*6 allows increased filming fun

- With the high-speed image processor and C-MOS sensor, up to 300 frames per second*7 can be taken
- With this function, any scene can be taken in slow-motion, just like the movies
- Capture special moments, such the facial expressions of children and pets as they react or those sports moments in a fun and unique way
