Panasonic SDR-S50 SDHC/SDXC* Card Digital Video Camera

NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
The Panasonic SDR-S50 is a standard definition camcorder that records DVD quality MPEG2 video and still photos to high capacity SDHC/SDXC* Memory Cards. Boasting a 33mm wide-angle lens – great for capturing groups of people or tight interior shots - with a powerful 78x advanced optical zoom for capturing distant subjects up close and personal, the H85 covers a wide range of shooting conditions. With such a long zoom, hand-shake is going to be an issue, which is where Panasonic’s Advanced Optical Image Stabilisation comes in ensuring you get clear, sharp shots at full zoom. It even has an Active Mode to compensate for movement when walking or playing with your children. RRP $399.
For ease-of-use the camera’s intelligent Auto function automatically activates convenient functions during shooting - this includes AF/AE Tracking, which optimizes the focus and exposure for a selected subject and even “locks” onto moving subjects. The iA function also includes Face Detection, Advanced O.I.S., Intelligent Contrast Control and Intelligent Scene Selector, producing outstanding results under virtually all shooting conditions.
* We recommend using class 2 or higher SDXC/SDHC/SD Memory cards for video recording.
SDHC Memory Cards and SDXC Memory Cards can be used only in equipment that is compatible with their respective formats. If the computer being used does not support SDXC Memory Cards, a message prompting you to format may appear. (Doing so will cause recorded images to be erased so do not choose to format.) If the card is not recognized, please refer to the below support site. http://panasonic.net/avc/sdcard/information/SDXC.html

What are the features and how will they benefit you? |
|
SDHC / SDXC memory card recording –Record video or stills to readily-available high-capacity SDHC/SDXC* memory cards for complete flexibility and easy transfer of your video footage.
Advanced Optical Image Stabiliser – When hand-shake is detected while shooting, the Advanced O.I.S. system is automatically activated to compensate for blurring and produce beautiful recorded images. It even has an Active Mode to compensate for movement when walking or playing with your children.Because it is optical there is minimal loss of image quality.
AF/AE Tracking - optimises the focus and exposure for a selected subject to ensure beautiful results. After you "lock on" to a subject at the centre of the screen by pressing the AF/AE button, the camera follows it around, keeping it in sharp focus and properly exposed
Intelligent Auto – the camera automatically adjusts itself to shooting conditions to achieve optimal results so you don’t have to worry about fiddling with camera settings.
Intelligent Contrast - By detecting the intensity of the ambient light and adjusting the exposure accordingly, Intelligent Contrast Control prevents blown highlights and blocked shadows.
Intelligent Scene Selector - The shooting conditions are detected, and the optimal Scene Mode is automatically selected. Even if the subject should change, there's no need to manually redo the settings, so you can concentrate entirely on your shot
Long Recording Mode - uses the new high-compression technology of the H.264/ AVC format to compress data to a level that doubles the recording time while maintaining the same image quality as DVD-quality MPEG-2 format. It's ideal for recording onto small-capacity SD cards. It also increases PC compatibility, and makes it easier to upload videos onto video sharing sites like YouTube
Face Detection – detects human faces (up to 15) and automatically adjusts camera for optimal focus and exposure.
Wind Noise Canceller - automatically detects and suppresses only wind noise, to give you natural sounds with lifelike ambience.
Easy YouTube Mode – limits clips to 10 minutes (the maximum for YouTube) and when plugged in to PC the software automatically starts in upload mode. To upload, simply choose the image file you want and click the Upload button. Encoding is no longer a hassle, as the software does all the work for you.
Soft Skin Mode - When this function detects skin tones, it softens the focus in that area. This has a skin beautifying effect, which makes wrinkles and lines appear less noticeable.
Colour Night View - Leave the light off: Colour Night View gives you images with colour even in dim lighting (2 lx). Light from the LCD is gentle and easy on the eyes, so you can snap shots of sleeping children without waking them up.
Relay Recording mode - automatically switches from the built-in memory (once it's full) to the SDXC/SDHC/SD Memory Card and continues recording. You don't have to worry about missing an important shot while switching media.
Pre-Rec Function - records three seconds of images even before you actually begin shooting. This helps ensure that you won't miss a moment.
Included VideoCam Suite Editing Software - make polished, smartly finished productions - lets you load images onto your PC for easy video editing. When you're finished with your video production, you can use VideoCam Suite to copy the edited version onto an SD Card, DVD disc or easily upload to YouTube. |
