The Nikon D200 Digital SLR Camera combines 10.2 megapixels with a 2.5 inch LCD in a magnesium alloy body.  It features an advanced high-speed, precision image processing engine and a new selectable 11-area AF or 7 wide-area AF.  What's really impressive is its superb image quality and handling speed which has it up and running in just 0.15 seconds and has a shutter lag of a mere 50 milliseconds.  The rechargeable Li-Ion battery (supplied) allows up to 1,800 shots per charge.  It can be recharged at any time, and the camera will tell you an approximate percentage of battery charge left, and the number of shots you have taken since the last recharge.

TIPA2006.JPG

The Nikon D200 was crowned “Best D-SLR Expert in Europe 2006”, at the prestigious Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) awards 2006.  The TIPA jury praised the Nikon D200 for its performance, superb image quality and handling speed which “really impresses as it’s up and running in just 0.15 seconds and has a shutter lag of a mere 50 milliseconds.”

To get started, DCW recommends....

Memory - The Nikon D200 Digital SLR Camera comes with no memory, so you'll need to order a memory card with your camera.  This camera uses Compact Flash Type I or Compact Flash Type II (also called Microdrive).

We recommend a 1gb memory card or higher.  If you plan to use RAW file format, the files are a lot larger, and we recommend you purchase the largest memory card within your budget.

Card Readers - These provide an easy way to transfer your images to your computer.  You simply take your memory card out of your camera and put it in your card reader and transfer.  It also means that you don't run your batteries down while transferring images from the camera, and you don't have to leave your camera sitting on your desk at risk of being knocked.

T Nikon Batt ENEL3e.JPG Spare Battery - We recommend you carry a spare battery with you so you don't miss out on that perfect shot.  Click through for a spare Nikon EN-EL3e Rechargeable Battery.
