Sony HDR-UX20 High Definition DVD Hybrid Video Camera

The Sony HDRUX20 gives you the choice of three recording mediums! Record High Definition 1920 x 1080 video direct to internal 8GB Flash memory (or Memory Stick) and then export the final movie to AVCHD Disc.. in camera! Using HD Long Play (1440x1080) you can record up to 3 hours of footage to the internal flash memory, reducing the need for other media. It sports a Carl Zeiss 15x optical zoom Vario-Sonnar T* Lens, 2.7” Touch Screen, Face Detection – up to 8 faces, built in Zoom Microphone with 5.1 ch Surround Sound, “Quick On” for fast start-up whilst conserving battery power, and Film Roll index and Face Index for easy navigation of recorded material. The HDR-UX20 also allows you to capture high quality 4.0 Mega Pixel still images when in dedicated still mode – with flash and red eye reduction! You can also record a 3.0 Mega Pixel still image at the same time as recording full motion video. RRP $1599. No Longer Available.

DVD/Hard Disk / Memory Stick recording –Record video or stills to DVD, 8gb internal memory or Memory Stick memory for complete flexibility and easy transfer of your video footage. High Definition 1920 x 1080i – records Full High Definition video at 1920 x 1080i for amazing image quality. Optical Image Stabiliser – optically compensates for vibration and hand-held movement for smoother, less jumpy images. Real Widescreen 16:9 – records in 16:9 aspect ratio so your videos will play on widescreen TV’s without being cropped or resized to fit. Built-in Zoom Microphone – “zooms in” microphone sensitivity at the same time as zooming lens to, for instance, isolate one person’s voice in a crowd. 5.1 Channel Dolby Surround Sound – records 5.1 channel surround sound for realistic sounding audio to match your hi def images. Face Detection – detects human faces and automatically adjusts camera for optimal focus and exposure. Film Roll and Face Index – easy navigation of your recorded footage is available by either creating scene indexes at specified intervals using Film Roll or with Face Index you can jump to scenes simply by pressing the human faces that have been detected during recording! Quick On – Pressing the Quick On button enables the camera’s power-saving standby mode; pressing the button again will power the camera up in just one second. 2.7" Wide Touch Screen LCD The Touch Screen interface makes using this Handycam a simple and enjoyable experience. iMovie 08 Compatible - Footage from this Handycam can be imported to Intel Macs using iMovie '08 and the latest operating system update (Mac OS X 10.5).
