What are the features and how will they benefit you? 14.6 Megapixels + 22 Bit A/D Converter – a high resolution 14.6 Megapixel CCD combined with a 22 Bit analogue-to-digital converter gives a higher dynamic range and finer tuning of colours compared to 12 bit converters. RAW+JPEG, PEF RAW & Adobe DNG RAW format - The K20D gives you the option of JPEG, RAW+JPEG, conversion from RAW to JPEG in-camera and capture in Adobe’s open standard DNG RAW format. You can shift quickly from JPEG to RAW + JPEG with the camera’s RAW button. RAW has 12 bits of data instead of the 8 bits in JPEG so highlights and shadows are not lost and original colour bit depth is preserved. Also RAW format lets you undo some camera settings such as white balance, sharpening, levels and colour adjustments. 11 Point Autofocus – In Auto mode the camera will focus on the nearest object, or you can individually select any of 11 points within the frame, or just select the centre of frame as the main focus point. In continuous autofocus mode the camera will adjust focus automatically on a moving subject. Shake Reduction – the Pentax Shake Reduction system allows for hand-held use in situations where a tripod would normally be required, such as with telephoto lenses, long exposure times or low-light situations. Increase your hand-held shooting by 2.5 to 4 stops. Dust Removal – When the Shake Reduction system shifts the CCD at high speed, the dust is shaken off the CCD and falls onto an adhesive sheet preventing dust returning to the CCD surface.
