The Pentax X70 digital camera features a high-magnification 24x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilisation and wide-angle to super-telephoto coverage. Sporting a highly portable, compact, lightweight body, this new all-purpose model performs superbly and effortlessly in a great variety of photographic situations — from casual day-to-day snapshots to travel and sports photography. Boasting 12 megapixels, high speed continuous shooting up to 11 frames per second, 720p HD movies, super-fast face recognition, and high sensitivity up to ISO 6400, the X70 promises to be an affordable and exciting addition to the super-zoom digital camera arena. Movie Feature – captures video with audio up to HD 1280 x 720p resolution at 15 frames per second. It features Movie Shake Reduction and the maximum recording time is up to 2gb file size. Expect to get around 59 minutes at HD 720p resolution on a 4gb SDHC card.

12 Megapixel – delivers photo quality prints up to A2 size.
26mm Wide Angle 24x Optical Zoom Lens - ideal for close-ups as well as distant shots. Super wide angle 26mm is great for landscapes, group shots, architecture.
Dual Image Stabilisation – CCD shift optical stabilisation plus Digital Shake Reduction help to counteract blurred images due to shaky hands, subject movement or when shooting in low-light conditions. Also important at full zoom where a small movement of the hand can cause a lot of movement at the other end.
ISO to 6400 - this will help you take better photos in low lighting.
Auto Picture Mode - automatically selects the most appropriate shooting mode for a given subject or scene by detecting the subject’s lighting and other conditions making it even easier to get the perfect shot.
High Speed Continuous Shooting - capture the subject continuously at a maximum speed of approximately 11 images per second, and up to 21 images in succession.* Coupled with the Auto-Tracking AF mode you can keep a fast-moving subject in focus all the time – great for sports, action, kids, animals. * at 5mp
Face Recognition AF & AE – focuses and sets correct exposure on faces rather than other objects that may appear in the frame. up to 32 faces in focus in approx. 0.03 seconds
Blink Detection – gives warning signal when detecting closed eyes in the photo just taken.
Smile Detection - function that automatically releases the shutter the instant it detects the subject’s smile in frame.
Full Manual Controls – Programmed AE, Aperture-Priority AE, Shutter-Priority AE, Metered Manual modes for greater control over the camera, allowing you to be more creative.
2.7” LCD plus Electronic Viewfinder – 230,000-dot LCD with Anti-Reflection coating makes it easier to see your images in daylight. Or use the electronic viewfinder when faced with strong backlight or to improve grip for greater camera stability.
1cm Macro – take stunning close-ups as near as 1cm from your subject.
