Today Sony has announced the successor to the Alpha A100 Digital SLR camera, the A200. 

The A200 features:

• 2.5″ LCD, 10.2 megapixels
• Dust reduction system
• Super SteadyShot system
• ISO 100-3200
• Up to 6 frames per second continuous shooting

More information on local pricing will be available when Sony Australia announces the A200.

Sony has just released a new firmware for the A700 Digital SLR.

Improvements over Firmware “Ver.2”:

• When pictures are taken rapidly, the access lamp may stay lit and the system may become inoperable.
• When turning off the camera when the “MR” mode is selected, some settings registered in the MR mode can be reflected in other shooting modes.

Improvements over Firmware “Ver.1”:

• The picture sharpness is better under low contrast conditions.
• Noise is reduced when working at high sensitivity ISO setting.
• The flash control is better at close range with a non-ADI control lens.
