Olympus E3 New Firmware
Friday, June 13th, 2008Olympus has released a version 1.2 firmware for their flagship model digital SLR, the Olympus E3. The firmware update “Improves the consistency of Auto White Balance (AWB)”.

Olympus Upgrade FE-series Firmware
Friday, May 16th, 2008Olympus have upgraded the firmware on their FE series cameras including the FE-270, FE-290, FE-310, FE-330 and FE-350.
The upgrades address the following fixes and improvements:
- The camera’s stability improves during operation
- Changes have been made to the Korean version

Olympus Zuiko 9-18mm Ultra-Wide Zoom Lens

Along with the newly-launched Olympus E-520 Digital SLR is another new Zuiko lens, this time covering the ultra-wide zoom range of 9-18mm, which on the Olympus 2x crop sensor represents a 35mm equivalent range of 18-36mm. It features 13 elements in 9 groups with a Dual Super Aspherical (DSA) front element, is 73mm long, and weighs in at 280 grams.

Olympus announce E-520 Digital SLR Camera
Tuesday, May 13th, 2008Olympus Australia have launched the E-520, the replacement for their highly-popular E-510 model Digital SLR camera. Olympus Australia had this to say about the new E-520:

Olympus Mju firmware updates
Monday, April 21st, 2008Olympus has announced 5 new firmware updates for their Mju digital cameras. The Mju 840, Mju 850SW, Mju 1010, Mju 1020, Mju 1030SW.
Some of the improvements include:
- Recording to microSDHC when in movie mode.
- Continuous recording to TypeH/TypeM+ xD cards in 640×480, 30fps until card is full.

Olympus update firmware for three Zuiko lenses
Thursday, April 17th, 2008Olympus have flagged three firmware updates for their Zuiko Digital lenses. The updates provide an improvement to the AF system when used with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 Digital SLR Camera. The lenses are:
- ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 25mm F2.8
- ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6
- ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150mm F4.0-5.6

Olympus Zuiko Lens Firmware Upgrade

Olympus has released a firmware upgrade for two of their 14-42mm Zuiko & 40-150mm Zuiko lenses. The firmware upgrade enables the full features of the E-420 to be used with the 14-42 & 40-150mm lenses.
Upgrading is carried out using the Olympus Master software, you can find more details about it here.

Olympus and microSD

Most of the 2008 line up Olympus digital cameras are now shipping with a microSD to xD adaptor meaning users can capture more than 2gb worth of photo’s on a single card as the adaptor has been tested to work with Sandisk’s 4gb & 6gb microSD.
