Nikon Australia has announced six new digital cameras for the COOLPIX range. All of the new cameras feature Nikon’s EXPEED image processor.

COOLPIX S560

Nikon has released a new firmware for the Coolpix P80 digital camera. Firmware version 1.1 addresses the following issues:

- When shooting with the Vibration reduction item in the setup menu set to On, vibration reduction did not always function in the following situations.  This issue has now been resolved

When the camera was turned on or when it recovered after being set to standby mode (activated by the auto off function), with the electronic viewfinder display enabeled by pressing the monitor button

When the camera was turned on, or with recovery from standby mode (actiavted by the auto off function) with the camera connected to a television or other video device via the supplied audio/video cable (EG-CP14)

- When shooting with the Distortion control option set to On, exessive correction was sometimes applied. This issue has now been resolved.

Along with the Coolpix P80, Nikon have revealed the latest updates to the S-Series - the Coolpix S52 and S52c. These two new additions are based on the stylish wave design of their predecessors and are both 9 Megapixel cameras, the S52c also incorporating wi-fi wireless technology. They feature:

Nikon have announced  today they will release a new big-zoom compact, the Nikon Coolpix P80, sporting an 18x optical zoom  Nikkor lens (35mm EFL of 27-486mm f2.8-4.5 ) with Vibration Reduction.
