Nikon have announced an upgrade of the firmware for their entry-level D-SLR camera, the D40. The new firmware is Ver. 1.11 and implements the following fix:
Shooting times were not always accurately recorded in image data for images captured in bursts of continuous shooting.

Canon has released a firmware update (Version 1.0.8) which addresses the following:
Fixes a phenomenon in which Image Stabilization operation emits a sound when certain buttons are pressed, with the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens attached to the camera.
Fixes a phenomenon in which the Image Stabilization operation emits a sound from the lens when IS lenses are attached to the camera.
Fixes a phenomenon in which a part of the image looks unnatural when reviewed on the LCD.
Corrects errors in the Spanish and Norwegian menu screens.
Please ensure you have firmware Version 1.0.5 before applying the 1.0.8 update.

The ELMO SUV Cam-II has been announced. The biggest difference with the SUV-Cam II is the ability to use SDHC cards, allowing users to use up to 32GB SD cards! There is also ”One Push” recording and for the SUV Cam-Professional, scheduled and continuous overwrite recording.
Even the camera head has been improved to reduce out of focus video caused by intense vibrations when recording.
For those who don’t know, the SUV-Cam is designed to be used in adverse conditions such as motorsports, adventure sports and law enforcement/security agencies.

Sigma have made available a firmware upgrade (Ver. 1.06) for the SD14 D-SLR camera. The upgrade should be applied to SD-14’s that have firmware version 1.05 or lower. If the camera already has Ver 1.06 the upgrade is not required.
The update addresses the following fixes and improvements:
Accuracy of the custom white balance has been improved.
One-day advance date counter that occurs with X3F images during an intercalary year was corrected.
Review image quality on the camera’s LCD is improved.
Users now have the option to disable the shutter release if there is no CF card in the camera. This option is found in the ‘Preview Style’ menu.
Canon have released firmware upgrade Ver. 1.0.5 for the EOS-40D D-SLR camera. The upgrade contains the following fixes and improvements:
When playing back images just after recovering from Auto Power Off, the display now shows the last image played back.
During remote shooting, images are now displayed on the camera’s LCD monitor right after they are taken.
Corrects a warning message in Korean that appears when updating the firmware.
Corrects errors in the Spanish menu screens.
Corrects a phenomenon that prevented printing with some print systems.
Corrects a rare phenomenon in which file numbers or image numbers were sometimes skipped.
The Version 1.0.5 firmware being released this time is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.4. If the camera’s firmware is already Version 1.0.5, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
