Panasonic have announced they will be releasing the world’s first camera utilising the recently-revealed Micro Four Thirds interchangeable lens system – The Lumix DMC-G1. The system does away with the traditional viewfinder prism and mirror system common to all SLR cameras in favour of an electronic viewfinder and liveview LCD monitor allowing for a much more compact design.

Along with this Panasonic have naturally revealed two new compact and light weight Micro Four Thirds lenses that can be used with the camera: the LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH./MEGA O.I.S.; and LUMIX G VARIO 45-200mm/F4.0-5.6/MEGA O.I.S.
