Ricoh GR Digital II 2.10 Firmware

Ricoh has announced a firmware update to it’s GR Digital II compact digital camera.

The 2.10 firmware addresses the following:

Added the following features:
• [Correcting the White Balance in Shooting Mode]
You can set the white balance correction manually in the shooting mode.

• [Correcting the White Balance in Playback Mode]
You can compensate the white balance in a captured image manually.

• [WB Correct] for [ADJ Lever Set. 1/2/3/4] and [Function Button]
You can register the [WB Correct] in an ADJ lever setting and the Fn button.

• [Detailed Information Display in Playback Mode]
You can see the WB comp. value and the image setting value in the display.

• [Auto Aper. Shift] in Aperture Priority Mode
You can have the Auto Aperture shift feature in the A mode.

• [Reduction Image Noise]
You can choose a noise reduction option depending on the ISO sensitivity.

• [ISO Sensitivity Display]
The ISO sensitivity is displayed at your half-pressing the shutter release button, when you set [AUTO] or [AUTO-Hi] in the ISO sensitivity.

Modified the following phenomenon:
• With the [AutoRotate] is enabled (ON), if a playback image is rotated and make it enlarged, a histogram in the display may not appear properly.

Sony “will provide a free repair service when this symptom occurs within certain units covered by the serial numbers indicated in the serial number validation box below. ”

Sigma DP1 new Firmware

Sigma has released yet another firmware upgrade for their debut compact digital camera the Sigma DP1.  The new firmware (version 1.04) adds the following:

  1. A customizing function has been added to the Digital Zoom button.
  2. The ft (feet) indicator has been added to the scale bar in MF mode.

Ricoh GX100 Firmware

Ricoh has released version 1.50 firmware for the Ricoh GX100 digital camera. The new firmware addresses the following:

1. Supports the TC-1 (the optional tele-conversion lens).
[Note]

Requires the HA-2 (the hood & adapter) in order to attach the TC-1
  Use the lens in the tele-end position to use the TC-1. If you use the other lens positions, the vignetting will appear.
  If you use the internal flash with attached the TC-1, the vignetting will appear.

Ricoh has released a new firmware for the Ricoh R8 10 megapixel, 7.1 x optical zoom, digital camera. The new firmware version 1.22 improves the white balance performance of the Ricoh R8.

Nikon D3 ver. 2.00 and D300 ver. 1.03 firmware update

The D300 updates to ver. 1.03 and addresses an issue where the battery indicator blinks whilst shooting regardless of the battery charge state.

The D3 updates to ver. 2.00 and addresses a whole host of fixes and updates including improved auto focus and auto white balance.
