Fujifilm Finepix S1000fd updated firmware

Fujifilm has released firmware version 1.03 for the Finepix S1000fd digital camera. This firmware addresses the following issues:

  • The brightness of the captured images when “EVF/LCD mode” is set to “60fps” is darker than that set to “30f/s” has been corrected
  • Languages which have spelling errors have been corrected.

Panasonic TZ-11 & TZ-15 firmware

Panasonic Japan has released new firmware for the Lumix DMC-TZ11 (known as the TZ4 in Japan) and the Lumix DMC-TZ15 (known as the TZ5 in Japan). Firmware version 1.2 improves auto focusing performance in both cameras.

Pentax K20D Firmware Update

Pentax has just released a new firmware for their 14.6 megapixel K20D digital SLR camera. The fix will eliminate the ‘hot pixel’ problem when taking photos using the ‘2 second timer’ mode. The firmware update will bring your K20D to version 1.01 and you can download it from HERE.

Sigma DP1 adds ISO 50

The Sigma DP1 has a new firmware available (v1.03) which adds the following extra features:

  1.  
    1. ISO 50 has been added into the ISO setting.
    2. Grid Display mode shows Display Icons.
    3. Shorten the pre-flash time in the Red-eye reduction flash mode.

Nikon P80 Firmware Update

Nikon has released a new firmware for the Coolpix P80 digital camera. Firmware version 1.1 addresses the following issues:

- When shooting with the Vibration reduction item in the setup menu set to On, vibration reduction did not always function in the following situations.  This issue has now been resolved

When the camera was turned on or when it recovered after being set to standby mode (activated by the auto off function), with the electronic viewfinder display enabeled by pressing the monitor button

When the camera was turned on, or with recovery from standby mode (actiavted by the auto off function) with the camera connected to a television or other video device via the supplied audio/video cable (EG-CP14)

- When shooting with the Distortion control option set to On, exessive correction was sometimes applied. This issue has now been resolved.
