Sony has just released a new firmware for the A700 Digital SLR.

Improvements over Firmware “Ver.2”:

• When pictures are taken rapidly, the access lamp may stay lit and the system may become inoperable.
• When turning off the camera when the “MR” mode is selected, some settings registered in the MR mode can be reflected in other shooting modes.

Improvements over Firmware “Ver.1”:

• The picture sharpness is better under low contrast conditions.
• Noise is reduced when working at high sensitivity ISO setting.
• The flash control is better at close range with a non-ADI control lens.

 Fujifilm have released firmware upgrade Ver. 1.01 for their Fujifilm Finepix S8000fd  18x zoom digital camera.

The firmware(Ver.1.01) update incorporates the following issues:

1. Countermeasure for PC connection between the 4GB memory card inserted camera and PC on Windows Vista. Data transfer from PC to the camera has been enabled under usage of FinePixViewer.

2. Fix the issues in high speed continuous Shooting function when ISO sensitivity is set to “AUTO”.
  • Exposure level shooting in low brightness condition has been corrected.
    (In some shooting condition, dark or black images are captured even in gloomy scenes.)
  • Mis-description of ISO sensitivity on Exif tag has been corrected, when shooting at ISO640.
    (ISO sensitivity was recorded as “ISO64″. mistakenly.)
